Recognizing the critical role that ears play in hearing, balance, and overall quality of life, Ratchaphruek Hospital has established the Audiology and Balance Centre. This center is dedicated to diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating hearing and balance disorders in a comprehensive manner. Located in the northeast of Thailand, our facility is the first and only private hospital in the region equipped with a specialized team of otolaryngologists, neurotologists, pediatric audiologists, and audiologists. We utilize modern technology to accurately diagnose and effectively treat hearing and balance issues across all age groups—from children to the elderly.

1. Diagnostic Examination:

• Ear infection

• Chronic otitis media

• Cholesteatoma

• Hearing loss (including sudden hearing loss)

 3. Special Investigations (Auditory diagnostic examination)

Audio screening test:

• For Newborns: Otoacoustic emissions (OAE) screening to measure cochlear function and detect hearing issues early.

Diagnostic Tests for Children:

• Behavioral audiometry/Visual Reinforcement Audiometry

• Acoustic Immittance Audiometry; Tympanometry, Acoustic reflex threshold, Acoustic reflex decay test

• Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR)

• Auditory Steady State Response (ASSR)

 

Diagnostic Tests for Adults:

• Conventional audiometry/Ultrahigh frequency audiometry

• Acoustic immittance audiometry; Tympanometry, acoustic reflex threshold, acoustic reflex decay test

• Acoustic Brainstem Response (ABR)

• Electrocochleography (ECoG) for Meniere’s disease diagnosis

 

4. Rehabilitation of Hearing and Balancing Abilities:

• Hearing aid fitting for both children and adults

• Hearing rehabilitation post-hearing aid fitting or post-cochlear implant

• Counseling and regular hearing aid check-ups

• Canalith repositioning procedures for BPPV
